«Astarta» has to harvest 30% of the remained sugar beet crop
«Astarta» agrofirms continue sugar beet harvesting, it remains to harvest about 30% of the total area.
The press-service of the company reports about it.
"Sweet harvest" in eastern production units is moving faster than in western units, where, given the increased humidity, harvesting began later. This year, bad weather conditions in Poltava region led to the decreased yield of most cultivated crops. At the same time, in the West the situation with crops was better, the yield of sugar beet reaches 60 t/ha.
This season, «Astarta» also implements large-scale changes in the system of sugar beet harvesting and transporting. The company switches to using self-propelled crawler loaders (so-called "bittarchs", Amity Technology production) instead of trucks. Western and eastern production units are already fully equipped with this technique. Operations director of the company, Zhelko Ertseg, says, such an approach has many advantages, such as optimization of the amount of transport involved in harvesting, reducing of the soil consolidation, more qualitative beet pile formation and better crop storage.
