«Astarta» sugar refineries continued the positive dynamics in increasing production energy efficiency and quality of products. Compared to 2017, the use of energy per tonne of beet processing decreased by 5%. The share of the highest category sugar reached 87% (including extra-class — 16%) in the total production. Also, this season, sugar refineries managed to increase their capacities by an average of 4%. Granulated beet pulp production increased by 9% — to 47 thousand tonnes.

In terms of reduction in harvested areas, sugar beet crop was less than in 2017, and amounted to 1,8 million tonnes.
