ARGENTINA's sugar production rose 3,3%
Argentina's sugar production rose 3,3% — to 2,02 mln t in 2016, compared to 2015, with about 12,82 mln t of sugarcane being crushed, according to a recent report by INTA.

Tucuman accounted for 1,36 mln t of the sugar produced and prices remained high at ARS 400-420/50kg bag (USD 23-24/50kg bag), it said.
The sugarcane sector witnessed growth on the back of good weather conditions, better sugar prices and ethanol blending rate being raised to 12%, the analysis added.
