«Agro-ORMS» began sugar beet harvesting

«Agro-ORMS» LLC began sugar beet harvesting. Early results show a yield of around 60 tonnes per hectare — a particularly pleasing outcome given the spring frosts and the moisture deficit that plagued the crop for most of the season.

New varieties — BTS 2020, Avgust, KWS Materia, and BTS 7635 — were also grown on these fields this year. These hybrids, new to the farm, are now undergoing their most critical test: not in a catalogue, but right out in the field.

To give sugar beets the best chance to perform, the Conviso Smart system was used alongside the standard crop protection program. Now, the final verdict rests with the field itself and the team that has tended it daily, from the first sprout to the harvest. The chief agronomist is reportedly close by, keeping a watchful eye to ensure not a single hectare goes unattended.

Meanwhile, the machinery is operating at full pace: ROPA EURO TIGER V8 and HOLMER TERRA DOS T3 harvesters are moving down the rows, while three transloaders help quickly move the harvested crop off the field. Some machines are company-owned and others are rented, but they all share a single goal: to bring in everything that was grown.

The harvesting campaign has only just begun. Many hectares — and many more figures that only the field can reveal—still lie ahead.
