Leading Serbian sugar producer Sunoko has announced an increase in the area planted with sugar beets in 2026 to 30,000 hectares, which is almost one-third higher than the previous year’s figure. This year the company is offering farmers €45 per tonne of beets delivered for processing.
During the 2025 production season, Sunoko’s factories processed 1.2 million tonnes of sugar beets and produced 170,000 tonnes of sugar. The average beet yield in the region reached 54 t/ha, while sugar content was 16.5%, which corresponds to the average indicators of the past five years.
