Astarta produced 362kt of sugar in 2025

In 2025, Ukraine continued to endure extraordinary challenges, while businesses across all sectors operated under sustained pressure. For Astarta, this meant navigating a complex combination of wartime conditions, unfavourable weather affecting primary agriculture, market volatility, and logistical constraints. Astarta remained focused on strengthening the resilience of Ukraine’s economy, supporting its people, and delivering sustainable value through an integrated business model that combines crop production, processing, cattle farming, energy and logistics into a single system.

Sugar segment revenues amounted to EUR147m on the back of sugar sales volumes of 298kt.

The 2025 sugar production campaign lasted 115 days vs 133 in 2024. The volume of sugar beet processed decreased by 9% y-o-y to 2.3mt at sugar yield of 15.6% — above the five-year average — Astarta’s sugar production totalled 362kt, maintaining its 21% production share in domestic market.

There was a challenging environment for sugar producers. Global prices for white and raw sugar remained depressed through 2025 and sugar traded below production costs in most key regions.
