In the 2025 calendar year, Ukraine exported 463.7 thousand tonnes of sugar worth USD 222 million. 73% of the exported volume was shipped to the global market, while 27% went to EU countries (in 2024, this ratio was 60/40%, respectively).

“In 2025, the industry maintained high export activity, despite a 38% reduction in shipments to foreign markets compared to 2024, when a historical record of 746 thousand tonnes of sugar exports from Ukraine was set. The key factor behind the decline in export volumes was the introduction of restrictions on Ukrainian sugar exports to EU countries. As a result, exports to the EU in 2025 fell by 59% compared to the previous year, totaling 123 thousand tonnes,” commented Yana Kavushevska, Chair of the Ukrsugar Association
