Yana Kavushevska, Chair of the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine, took part in the Polish Sugar Producers Forum, which was held on February 20 in Poznań.
Forum participants reviewed the results of the 2025/26 production season, discussed the situation on the Polish and EU sugar markets, as well as the EU regulatory framework in the context of achieving the 2050 climate goals. Special attention was also paid to communication about the role of sugar in nutrition and the impact of artificial intelligence on consumer behaviour.
Yana Kavushevska informed the Forum participants about the current situation and prospects of the sugar market in Ukraine, as well as the development of the export potential of Ukrainian sugar.
The Forum became an important platform for expanding professional dialogue and exchanging experience between the sugar industries of Ukraine and Poland.
“Today, Polish factories serve as a kind of benchmark for us — a reference point we will consider when assessing the competitiveness of the Ukrainian industry in the context of future EU accession. From this perspective, the Polish experience, their technological solutions and achievements are extremely interesting and practically valuable for Ukrainian sugar producers,” the Chair of Ukrsugar noted.
